Once a month, the Entrepreneurs Assembly (EA for those in the know and into acronyms) meets in a nondescript room to make magic happen for small businesses and budding entrepreneurs. What is the magic that is mentioned? Simple and powerful: connections and goals.
Each month entrepreneurs in the greater Truckee Meadows region meet to talk about goals for themselves and their businesses under the greater program of Entrepreneurs Assembly. Speakers are often there to kick off the beginning of the day’s agenda. The true value for many participants comes from this peer-to-peer discussion and the mentoring that are the bulk of the three hour sessions.
These break-away sessions focus on creating action steps for each business to accomplish within the next month. This powerful habit of creating achievable goals and the accountability to track progress, this is the magic that Entrepreneur’s Assembly fosters. Many of the participants attend dutifully every month and feel like they are no longer “solopreneurs” but instead have a network of support and like-minded peers.
So how can you be a part of this great group? Good news – attendance is free and the meetings are open to the public! The group meets every second Saturday of the month at 1301 Cordone Blvd in Reno, Nevada in the lower level meeting room from 9am until noon. This is a friendly and action-oriented group that welcomes new comers.
And hats off to the hard-working founders: John Moran, Matt Westfield and Rod Hosilyk. These two are serial entrepreneurs that have been giving back to the community for years. They both have been teaching courses at the University of Nevada, Reno, attending various community building events and helping student teams compete in business plan competitions around the state and nation.
